With love in the air comes music as well! Sooke Radio is here to keep your listening experience flowing seamlessly this February.
Our behind-the-scenes work has been getting busy: we’ve moved to a brand-new server to improve the quality of listeners’ Sooke Radio engagement, and a phone line so we can pick up your calls live on air is in the works.
But that’s not the only exciting news around here...

Sooke’s Battle of the Bands is getting competitive!
The Battle of the Bands is underway every Friday afternoon on sooke.live! Local and regional bands have been competing head-to-head, and we’ve just announced the first round of winners. Tune in to Almost There at 5 PM to hear the bands compete each week.
You can then vote for your favourite on the Sooke Radio and Sooke Music Festival Facebook pages.
Winners are chosen through a mix of votes from all you listeners and industry judges, including Peter Jonassen, Jenny Leddy, Marleen Kiral, and Dylan Dawson.
Follow the Sooke Music Festival and Sooke Radio Facebook pages to see band lineups, voting links, and judge spotlights. Listen live, vote weekly, and help the battle progress and find Sooke’s champion band!

From Launch to Livestream: Sooke.live live broadcasting at the Sooke Music Festival 2025 from Fred Milne Park

Sooke radio will have a new home at the Sooke Museum, a physical studio space for the radio station!
